MD ONBOARD and BHA Global Announce Strategic Partnership to Bring Continuous Patient Monitoring to Aviation

NEW YORK, October 20, 2026 — MD ONBOARD and BHA Global announced today a strategic partnership that introduces the VitalStream®, passenger monitoring and diagnostic technology to the MD ONBOARD medical advisory service offering

 

The VitalStream system enhances MD ONBOARD’s existing capability to transmit 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) by expanding the physiological information available to clinicians when remotely assessing a passenger and advising the crew. The additional information includes continuous blood pressure monitoring and hemodynamic information, including cardiac output and stroke volume. Together, these capabilities aim to provide a broader view of a passenger’s condition, improving diagnostic accuracy.

 

For commercial and business aviation operators, access to the VitalStream System supports more informed clinical assessments, clearer guidance for crews, and better informed decisions during inflight medical events. This includes decisions about onboard treatment and whether a diversion is medically necessary, particularly on long-range flights, where access to in-person care is limited.
